Fact-Checking The Daily Show

Now we love Jon Stewart and his merry band of correspondents over at The Daily Show, but last night they made an error both insignificant and significant at the same time. In a segment on Iraq, John Oilver referenced Condoleeza Rice's famous "birth pangs of a new Middle East" comment from the summer of 2006, implying that she had said that with respect to an increase in violence in Iraq. The only problem with this is that she wasn't talking about Iraq at all. She was talking about the Israeli-Lebanon conflict.
