I-Had-No-Idea-About-This Fact Of The Day
You know, I like to think I read the news pretty carefully, but thankfully there are letter writers like Rafi Adamjee to catch me up on what I missed. Here are the three most brilliant sentences I have read in the past six months:
It's very rare that the words "I have no idea what you're talking about" are literally and absolutely true, but I have to say, this is one of those times.
At the time of the election of the Pope it was evident from the white smoke from the chimneys that a black was being elected to lead the Catholics. At this juncture President Bush said that a black Pope was unacceptable to the millions of Catholics who happen to be white.
As this pressure increased, the bishops were forced to elect Cardinal Ratzinger as the Pope.
It's very rare that the words "I have no idea what you're talking about" are literally and absolutely true, but I have to say, this is one of those times.

Dude,
Please tell me that you have some non-manual way of scanning the web for interesting items like these otherwise you need to do more with your talented self. I am very certain that Chicago has more to offer than you are accessing for yourself at this point. DNC is moving there and they are looking for talented people.
SA:
The letters to the editor in Dawn are a daily read. There's too much treasure there for me not to indulge myself.
