Quote Of The Day
Yao Ming lives up to every Chinese stereotype while thinking about Ron-Ron's arrival in Houston. Honestly, if Sun Tzu or Confucius played a team sport, wouldn't they have said something like this?
For some reason, I like him. Because in the games we play against him, I hate him.As I told Nikhil in an email, this move is guaranteed to destroy the Rockets. Rick Adelman, his "player's coach" reputation notwithstanding, is not as able a people-manager as Phil Jackson. Tracy McGrady, moreover, is not the you-better-not-fuck-around-or-I'll-rip-your-goddamn-throat-out alpha dog that is Kobe Bryant. The result will be Ron-Ron being Ron-Ron, which ultimately means he will be involved in every single trade rumor in January and February.

Actually, I'm pretty scared by the Rockets right now.
When Yao sits, they can go to last year's lineup which played some incredibly stifling D.
When Yao is playing, Artest at the 4 gives him an enforcer and allows them to spread the floor.
Big question - Can Rafer Alston keep up his level of play from the second half of last season.
Shariq:
You too easily dismiss Artest's potential to run riot off the court and cause all sorts of chemistry issues. It's happened everywhere he's played.
Hou will make it out of the first round this year.
The other three teams in the conf. semis will be LAL, NOH and UTA.
A true changing of the guard.
The new seeding rule sometimes confuses me, so tell me if the following statement is correct:
"The only way NO and Hou can match up as 4-5 seeds is if one of Dallas or SA wins the division, and NO and Hou have the two best records in the West outside the division winners".
from my understanding, a division winner is guaranteed a top 4 seed, and homecourt is according to record.
for example, if the standings finish:
sa
hou
lal
noh
utah...
the first five seeds will be:
sa
hou
lal
utah
noh
with noh having homecourt.
