Obama Up In The Polls
RealClearPolitics' average - the best way to get at the polling numbers that come at you thick and fast during an election season - shows a convention bump for Obama. The bump might also have something to do with some of the problems the McCain campaign has run into with its pick of Sarah Palin for veep.
While we're talking about numbers and polls, allow me to recommend Five Thirty Eight. It's a veritable goldmine insofar as polling data is concerned (its state-by-state breakdown is especially useful; keep your eyes on Ohio and Florida). For those of you who love the statistical side of things, I highly recommend it. Even for those not really mathy, trust me, it's a lot of fun - it's got a bunch of cool graphs and charts that will definitely help you procrastinate at work, which is the only reason anyone ever reads blogs. Go check it out.

Dude, five thirty eight is awesome. There's an interesting post there on the importance of having an experienced vice-president. The most important job a vice-president is ever going to be asked to do is take over as president, this will most probably occur in a crisis and that's where experience, rather than vision or ideology, is going to be key.
