Ps: If anyone is willing to transcribe and translate all that, I will post it up.

Why couldn't you have been an insaan and said Amen instead of Ameen?

I dunno. Didnt think about it.

You ass, you know this post is now goign to turn into a "whats wrong with saying Ameen"/"but why do you have to say Ameen when the saying is Amen to that" thread right?

@ aks: why do you hate islam??

And I thought language policing was not a feature of this blog. Now the authors are at it. I hope it is not proxy for thought policing. I have enjoyed that this 'didn't think about it' spelling goes well with NB's last post.

To bring discussion back to topic, it is interesting how the guy remembers each pay rise from some time ago but does not mention it for recent years probably because of very high inflation the pay rises don't matter anymore.

my thoughts have not changed from the first time i watched this:

It is uplifting and upsetting at the same time – our country’s tale definitely has been a sad one, but it has lived on because of people like him.

Pakistan zindabad.

(yes,i'm feeling patriotic right now, partially because of watching two tehreek e insaf members push their agenda on bang e dara (they're messed up when it comes to extremism, but didn't spend their 15 min of fame bashing other parties, respect), and partially because of ahsan's post on joy in pakistan, which merits a reply there.)

Seriously Internet Explorer 8 rocks, it has every feature I currenly want in a browser including tabs. It is the market leader in browsers for a damn good reason - speed and stability. But older versions like IE6 are not as secure as IE8.

- I think this goes a long way in exonerating us for negotiating with the Taleban. you have made some really sound arguments in the past but the reality on the ground is that these people cannot be eliminated by force alone. It has always been about keeping/grooming them as strategic assets because these people will not and cannot be institutionalized.

OK here's the translation:

Performativity cannot be understood outside of a process of iterability, a regularized and constrained repetition of norms. And this repetition is not performed by a subject; this repetition is what enables a subject and constitutes the temporal condition for the subject. This iterability implies that 'performance' is not a singular 'act' or event, but a ritualized production, a ritual reiterated under and through constraint, under and through the force of prohibition and taboo, with the threat of ostracism and even death controlling and compelling the shape of the production, but not, I will insist, determining it fully in advance
