Like the teacher who gives the pimply-faced, fat kid a toffee, the Asian Cricket Awards try to boost Kamran Akmal’s self-esteem. Or this is possibly a Hindu plot to convince us to play the worst keeper in the world:

Don't forget Shoaib Malik's "Cricketer of the Year" award. What exactly has he done in 2007 to deserve that?
To be fair, Shoaib Malik was named Pakistan's cricketer of the year, a category that wasn't very hotly contested.
