I am also not a huge fan of Hitchens.He seems always to say the same thing.He always appears arrogant and condescending. He is always looking for opportunities to disgorge his endless supply of venom and to display his intelligence and infuriate people.
Regarding Hitchens suggestion that Obama should use the UN as a platform to address the people of Iran directly, while maintaining a firm diplomatic position, I think direct address is a very reasonable idea, and Obama, being the erudite politician, I could realistically see him pursuing such an action. Taking this middle-of-the-road approach in addressing the Iran situation would be an excellent move.
I am not a fan of Iran but we are really desperate for some balance to the sunni-wahabi influence in Pakistan although it might be too late
